Diaspora devoid of discipline

Impeccable implementation of the laws in Israel, zero-garbage open spaces including roads in Singapore, people’s innate desire to drill like the armed forces in Germany of not too long past and such models reflecting adherence to discipline as national character of respective countries have been talked about in the circles of literati in our land. Portraying India and its masses, barring a minuscule section in the population, cannot be sidelined as a total contrast compared to the aforementioned nations. The term discipline (in public spaces) doesn’t seem to be in the dictionary of most Indians. The headcount of the land has been classified into myriad distinct sections by following unclear parameters such as majority, minorities, backward classes and so on, mainly to favour or disfavour the different well-marked sections in the matter of various privileges and sops, much to the disenchantment in the majority sections. All action in the country stands vitiated in this dispensation.

Keeping the land’s environment tidy and inculcating the habit of drill among the land’s diaspora amounts to asking-for-the-moon as it were. Even Israelisation, expecting the minority groups to adopt the lifestyle, language, culture and other ways of the dominant group at various levels in the country is merely unthinkable, thanks to the rising presence and influence of the vicious, wily vote-seekers.

The various problems bugging the nation are featured in the articles authored by those who are in the know according to their distinct perceptions, making the articles a good read. The problem of these problems is that most of their prescriptions directed at the government of the day have ended as only punching in the air as it were. Their diagnosis of the major causes at the root of these problems point to two lacunae namely, (a) Discipline in public life and (b) Education earning certificates sidelining competence, skill and capability to pursue any economic activity with efficiency. This has been highlighted by the fraternity in Indian industry sector oftentimes.

As long as the ongoing tamasha of mutual outwitting by different groups of vote-seekers, splurging their ill-gotten wealth to further grab a stranglehold on the land’s masses is tolerated by the citizens, there is no salvation for them and their land in days ahead. Its diaspora devoid of discipline stands self-destroyed.
