Mysuru: Dinesh Coaching Centre had organised a function at Kalamandira here yesterday for presentation of Pratibha Puraskar to students of the Centre who had excelled in the SSLC examination.
Pratibha Puraskar was presented to 92 students who had scored more than 600 marks in the SSLC examination held during 2017-18.
Prizes were also given away to students who had won in various cultural competitions.
Addressing the students, Swami Veereshananda Saraswati, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Tumakuru, opined that education was very important for children and advised students to be disciplined right from school days to contribute for a healthy society later.
He said that people of the country should never forget the traditions and culture of the nation. He regretted that people speak vociferously only on their rights and not on their duties and responsibilities. He advised students to learn the values of life without focusing only on marks and added that success and failure were in the hands of students only.
Dr. B.V. Vasanth Kumar of Maharani’s Arts College spoke on the importance of education and patriotism. N.V. Dinesh of the Coaching Centre was present.
