Mysore/Mysuru: The Diocese of Mysore in association with Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES) will felicitate the meritorious Catholic students of SSLC, PUC, Degree, Post Graduation, Doctoral Studies and other professional courses from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu Districts at the MDES Catholic Felicitation Programme to be held at St. Philomena’s College Indoor Stadium in Bannimantap here on Dec. 13.
MDES has been honouring the meritorious Catholic students and institutions excelling in academics as well as Catechism exams since 2012. It has been managing more than 150 educational institutions under its umbrella in the Southern districts of Karnataka.
This year, the Diocese will be felicitating around 700 students.
Most Rev. Dr. K. Antony William, Bishop of Mysuru, will preside over the programme.
John Michael Cunha, former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, will be the chief guest at the event. Rev. Fr. Francis Assisi D’Almeida, Secretary, KRCE, Bengaluru, will be the special guest.
Most Rev. Dr. Thomas A Vazhappilly, Bishop Emeritus, Mysuru; Rev. Msgr. Alfred John Mendonca, Vicar General, Diocese of Mysore; Rev. Msgr. Dominic Vas, OCD, Episcopal Vicar for the Religious, Diocese of Mysore; Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent, MDES; Rev. Fr. Madalai Muthu, Treasurer, MDES and Rev. Fr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, Rector, St. Philomena’s Autonomous College and Post Graduate Centre will be the guests of honour on the occasion.
