Mysore/Mysuru: Following the statement from the officials of the Department of Technical Education that odd semester exams will be held as per schedule, about 100 Diploma students of various Polytechnic Colleges in the city staged a protest at CPC Polytechnic College premises on Ashoka Road yesterday, demanding cancellation of odd semester exams.
Diploma students from CPC Polytechnic, Vidyavardhaka Polytechnic, Vidya Vikas Polytechnic, D. Banumaiah Polytechnic, JSS Women’s Polytechnic, JSS Boys Polytechnic and Nanjangud JSS Polytechnic, led by All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), staged a protest and submitted a memorandum to CPC Polytechnic Principal, urging him to bring this issue to the notice of the Technical Education Department.
The students said that despite a memorandum being submitted to the Department authorities earlier, officials said that the odd semester exams will be held. They demanded cancellation of previous semester exams and conduct the present semester exams, cancellation of odd semester exams on the lines of CBSE, ICSE and PU exams and conduct internal evaluation or other scientific method.
They also demanded free COVID vaccination to all students before commencing offline classes and follow UGC and Supreme Court guidelines.
AIDSO District President Subash, Vice-President Ashiya Begum, G.S. Seema of AIMSS, All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) District Secretary T.R. Sunil and others took part.
