Mysore/Mysuru: Jumping into the bandwagon in the fight against the deadly Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Mysuru District Congress has decided to form a COVID-19 Task Force.
The District Congress which met at the Congress Bhavan near the City Railway Station yesterday, resolved to set up a Task Force headed by District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar and Hunsur MLA H.P. Manjunath to fight the deadly disease and to set up two District-level Helplines: 82967-69577 and 97413-92799.It was also decided that all ZP members of the party contribute Rs.10,000 each, TP members Rs.5,000 each, CMC and TMC members Rs.2,500 each to the KPCC relief fund.
Addressing the meeting, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar alleged that the administration had failed in implementing several guidelines issued by the Union and State Governments in order to stop the spread of the Virus. The Congress will bring to the notice of the authorities and the Government on the complaints and suggestions that are received through the Helplines, he added.
A poster on COVID-19 awareness and lockdown regulations was released on the occasion.
District Congress office-bearers Prakash, Shivaprasad, Shivanagappa, Manjunath, Basavaraj Nayak, Pushpavalli and other leaders were present.
