Mysuru – The District Dalit Sahitya Parishat and Samagama Samskruthika Seva Trust jointly had organised a function at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here on Saturday to felicitate District Kannada Janapada Parishat President Kyathanahalli Prakash who has won the Mathrubhoomi Award.
Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Folklore University Retired VC Prof. Ambalike Hiriyanna opined that art learning centres should be opened in rural areas to preserve Indian culture.
He regretted that folk culture was declining in the modern world which should be revived.
S.Venkatesh, Professor, Department of Philosophy, Mysore University, inaugurated the programme.
Littérateurs Bannur K. Raju, D.N. Krishnamurthy, Parishat President Dr. B.K. Puttananjaiah, Trust President P. Somashekar and others were present on the occasion.
