Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) has been actively organising various sports and cultural competitions to provide a platform for unearthing young talents. As part of this, the DYES has organised Mysuru District-level Yuvajana Mela on Mar. 2 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad.
Youths (boys and girls) between the age group of 15-29 years may participate in the various cultural programmes organised as part of the Yuvajana Mela. The winners will be awarded with certificates and will be selected for the Division-level competition.
The event will feature several competitions: Individual contests for boys and girls separately includes Bhavageethe, Lavani, Rangageethe (Theatre Songs) and Mono-Acting.
Group contests for boys and girls separately include Geegi Pada (5), Kolata (12), Dollu Kunita (12), Folk Dance (12), Bhajane (8) and Folk songs (6).
Group contests for boys includes Veeraghase/Puravantike/Veerabhadrana Kunita (12), Dollata (Mudalapaya-15), Sannata (12), Yakshagana (15) and Charmavadhya Mela (6).
Group contests for girls include Ragi/Jola Bisuva Pada (2) and Sobane Pada (4).
Interested youths may register their names calling Ph: 0821-2564179 or at the spot before 9 am Mar. 2. Registrations later will not be entertained, according to a press release from DYES Assistant Director K. Suresh.
