Mysuru: District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa has directed the City and District Congress to prepare a list of non-official members for various Dasara Sub-Committees.
Speaking at a meeting with Congress leaders at Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) office in Dasara exhibition ground here yesterday, he said that Legislators and other elected representatives, Chairmen of Boards and Corporations and party office-bearers should sit together and prepare the list, which should have representation of all communities and rural leaders besides asking the leaders not to give way to any confusions in the distribution of Dasara passes.
Continuing, Dr. Mahadevappa said as there will be very high traffic density in the city during Dasara, there are plans to introduce a special vehicle system, where the tourists can visit all tourist spots in and around the city in a single vehicle.
He also said that Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will inaugurate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue in Town Hall premises on Aug. 29.
City Congress President R. Murthy, MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar, KEA Chairman Siddaraju, ZAK Chairperson Mallige Veeresh, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, MCDCC Bank President M. Chandrashekar and others were present.
