Mysore/Mysuru: District Minister S.T. Somashekar has come out in support of K.R. Nagar JD(S) MLA S.R. Mahesh in respect of the land where SaRa Convention Hall has come up in city.
Speaking to presspersons after taking part in Teachers’ Day celebration here this morning, Somashekar questioned who gave powers to Munish Moudgil, Commissioner, Survey, Settlement and Land Records, Revenue Department, to order a re-survey of the land (plot) on which the Convention Hall has come up. Pointing out that Mysuru Regional Commissioner had carried out a comprehensive survey of lands in and around the Convention Hall just two months ago and submitted a report to the Government in this regard, Somashekar questioned the need for ordering a re-survey of the same land, when a competent authority had done the same.
Maintaining that some IAS officers believe that they only are honest and all others are dislawful, he said that the Bureaucracy must give up this mindset in the interests of the State.
Stating that he had no objection or opposition to punish the guilty, he observed that there is a system and a routine for proving the guilt and IAS officers should shun targeting Legislators and other elected representatives out of hatred and revenge.
Pointing out that the State Government waived off farm loans on a big scale two years ago, Somashekar said that Munish Moudgil was entrusted with the task of correcting land records for implementing the loan waiver. But Moudgil is yet to scrutiny the records of 53,000 waiting farmers since the past two years, he said and questioned the real purpose and the hurry behind the IAS officer’s order to re-survey lands for any encroachments, when a survey has already been done by a top authority.
