Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru District Volleyball Association is all set to be restructured.
Announcing this at a press meet here recently, Karnataka State Volleyball Association President Harshan said that Mysuru District Volleyball Association has been in existence for the past several years. Now, as per the new rules, Taluk-level Committees must be formed, from which the office-bearers of the District Volleyball Association should be appointed, for which a preliminary meeting of senior volleyball players, Ekalavya awardees, Coaches and Volleyball fans has been convened, Harshan said.
The Association’s State Secretary Antony Joseph, who also addressed the press meet, said that the objective of the Association is to take the game to Taluk, Hobli, School and College levels.
Pointing out that there are plans to organise Pro-Volleyball League at District-level too, he said that as per new rules, there is no place in the Association for persons aged over 60 years. Also, there is no provision for re-election, he said adding that the rules laid down in the National Sports Development Code of India-2011 will be followed strictly.
Senior Volleyball Coaches Krishnegowda, Parameshwar, Organisers M.S. Rohit Gowda, Akash and Siddesh were present at the press meet.
