Divya Chetana, Seva Chetana Awards presented

Mysuru:  Rotary Ivory City Mysuru felicitated three achievers in various fields at a function organised in a private hotel here recently.

Those who were felicitated are V. Shyam, a BSNL employee, who is suffering from hip displacement and is wheelchair-bound and K.S. Roopa, a visually impaired Canara Bank employee. Both were presented with ‘Divya Chetana’ Award.

Kala Moorthy, a nurse serving at Kamakshi Hospital since 30 years, was presented with ‘Seva Chetana’ Award.

The awards were presented by chief guest Rtn. Abhinandan Shetty, District Governor, RI District 3182, in the presence of Rtn. Sunil Baliga, Assistant Governor Zone-7, who was the guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. Shetty said that there is a need for felicitating such achievers, who, in spite of their disabilities had come up in life, reached top positions and were recognised by their employers and the public.

Also, Charter presentation of Interact Club of Hardwick High School and Sathya Sai School were presented by Rtn. Abhinandan Shetty.

Rotary Ivory City Mysuru also felicitated Rtn. Abhinandan Shetty for being the youngest Rotary District Governor and PDG Dr. Nagarjuna for being nominated by RI President as Assistant Zonal Co-ordinator for Membership Development and External Expansion for the year 2019-21.
