‘Do not expect any help from Govt. if you have done mistake’

Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai warns Police officials

Mysore/Mysuru: “The State Government is with you, do your duty according to the law but do not expect any support from the Government if you have done mistakes,” warned Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai to Police officials.

While addressing a review meeting at the SP Office in city, the Minister said, “State Police have gained good reputation across the country. Even Central Government insist our State Police to probe high-level cases. Officials should maintain this dignity in the future.”

“Police officers should be aware of things happening around the Station limits. Even people should speak with Police with respect but not in fear. Also Cops should control rowdism, instead fearing them. Then people will lose faith in Police Department. Strict action should be taken to eradicate rowdism in order to protect the law,”                                advised Bommai.

Your success is govt’s success

Basavaraj Bommai further added that the State Government is taking care of every aspect from Police recruitments, building of new Police Stations, children’s education to building new Guest Houses for Police personnel. If Police is successful in protecting the law, then their success is State Government’s success. Cops should always try to win in every work they do and this will happen only with greater confidence.

Importance to Mysuru

Not only just Bengaluru, Mysuru is also given top priority. Any changes or good works always begin from Mysuru city.
Like other districts, communal clashes, land related issues and others take place in city too which needs to be sorted out.

Stating that 44 murders took place in the district in 2019, out of which 14 cases are still being investigated from the past two years, Bommai quessioned the officers “why there was no progress in those cases? Have Police compromised with murderers? or do they don’t want to find the accused?” The culprits should be punished soon and if any officer is not doing proper duty remove him from the Department, the  Minister directed.

Increasing cyber crimes

Speaking on the occasion, DG&IGP Praveen Sood said, “In the next ten years cyber crimes will increase rapidly. People involved in online fraud cannot be identified easily. However, if complaints are registered and investigated soon, victims can get back their lost money.”

When any victim appoaches Police Station with Cyber Crime complaint, instead of asking them to go to Cyber Crime Station, immideate action should be taken and complaint can be registered later, he adviced the Cops.
