Mysore/Mysuru: A doctor had to face the wrath of a man and his father, over a trivial issue, at a hospital in city recently.
Dr. Anup, a Paediatrician at a hospital in Sathagalli, is the victim, who was allegedly assaulted by Rubiyaz Shariff and his father.
He (Dr. Anup) is also accused of inappropriate behaviour, according to a complaint lodged by the accused.
Udayagiri Police have received a complaint and counter complaint in this regard.
Shariff’s 3-year-old son is admitted at the hospital. On Thursday, at about 11.45 am, Shariff, along with his father, came to the hospital. The staff instructed the father and son duo to come during the visiting hours at 12.30 pm. They were told to remove their footwears, before entering the hospital. Irked by this, the two allegedly picked up a wordy duel with the hospital staff and Dr. Anup. When the staff made a bid to educate them about the rules prohibiting wearing of footwear inside, to prevent the spread of infection, with the hospital exclusively meant for children’s care, Shariff and his father, allegedly questioned the staff for wearing footwear. Though they tried to convince them that they use separate footwears for wearing outside and inside the hospital, they were not convinced.
“As the father and son insisted on showing the footwear I wear outside, I took them outside the hospital and showed them the footwear by holding it in hand. Irked, the child’s father assaulted me,” Dr. Anup has told the Police.
The whole incident is recorded on CCTV camera and a case has been registered against Shariff and his father, on the basis of Dr. Anup’s complaint. Police have also issued a noticed to them.
On the other hand, Shariff has filed a complaint of inappropriate behaviour against Dr. Anup.
