Mysuru: A K.R. Hospital doctor has lodged a complaint with the Devaraja Police accusing the relatives of a dead woman patient, of assaulting him in the issue of conducting post-mortem.
K.R. Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Srinivas, in his complaint lodged with the Devaraja Police, said that a pregnant woman was brought dead to Cheluvamba Hospital, following which the doctors sent the body to the mortuary for an autopsy as it is required in a Medico-Legal Case (MLC).
He was returning after discussing the issue with Cheluvamba Hospital Superintendent, when a group of nearly 100 persons followed him to his chamber and created ruckus demanding to handover the body without post-mortem. But he insisted on the post-mortem as it was required under law, when some in the group assaulted him and as well as the Security Guard who came to his rescue, Dr. Srinivas said in his complaint. Following the complaint, the Devaraja Police took some relatives of the deceased for questioning, it is learnt.
