Sir,
A few decades ago, medical doctors were like family friends, visiting patients at home and prescribe treatment. Later, with the increase of population and consequent rise in the ailing patients, due to various factors, the doctors have also started their strategy, by opening small clinics at suitable locations attracting patients, who wait in long queues for hours together, to consult the so-called super-speciality doctors of various organ-wise expertises.
Now even the immobile patients with minor problems have to be transported to hospitals for consultation and treatment with expensive admission.
In this melee, I was surprised to meet a young Physician, who is back in Mysuru, after having his stint in Seychelles, Maldives and Australia, to revive the old but friendly practice of visiting the patients at home, diagnose the health problems and prescribe treatment. He has no clinic but “works from home.”
What a relief for patients like me, the super-seniors, with minor ailments like cold, cough etc., treated by home-visit! He will also see only few patients per day, spending more time with them, in a homely atmosphere. His consultations include services like blood collection, give it to lab for analysis, injections, dressings, geriatrics and terminal care.
How nice! The readers may want to avail home-visit consultations from Dr. T.M. Cariappa [Mob: +91 9113991595].
