Bengaluru: A week after octogenarian ‘Pond Man’ Kamegowda of Dasanadoddi village in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district was recognised and lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ All India Radio (AIR) address on Sunday last (June 28), Documentary Film Director T. Kempanna said that his documentary on the legendary water warrior Kamegowda, which he had produced six months ago, has been selected for the International Film Festival of India under Nature category, organised by the Government of India.
Pointing out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acknowledged his documentary on Kamegowda, Kempanna said that the PM’s praise has motivated him to make more such documentaries.
