Dormitory facility at Cheluvamba Hospital: A suggestion

Sir,

The front page headline “No Dormitory for Patients’ attendants at Cheluvamba Hospital” was  indeed a sad reading (SOM dated  Sept.19).

The appalling condition of those who happened to be nearby villagers accompanying the pregnant women (for delivery) is pathetic.

On behalf of the welfare of the general public,  I request individuals, business houses, corporates or NGOs (like Lions and Rotary) to come forward to run a dormitory, by taking a hall on rent, in nearby area or a little away with transport facilities, on “No Profit, No Loss” basis on humanitarian grounds. Hope my request will be considered in the larger interest of public as winter is fast approaching.
