Bengaluru: The State Government yesterday gave IPS officer Alok Mohan additional charge of Director General & Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) of the State.
The position fell vacant after the recent appointment of DGP Praveen Sood as CBI Director.
Dr. Alok Mohan, Director General of Police & Commandant General, Home Guards has been given the additional charge along with the post of Chairman of Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, Bengaluru with effect from May 22.
Dr. Alok Mohan is 1987 batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer. He has the experience of working in various divisions of the department during the last 36 years. He was the Joint Commissioner (Crime) of Bengaluru City Division, ACB and ADGP. He is due to retire in April 2025.
