Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Mahamanavana Mayayana,’ a book on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, written by C. Chandrappa was released at a programme organised by Karnataka Unit of Bharatiya Dalita Sahitya Academy in association with Hindulida Vargagala Jagruti Vedike and Dalita Vidyarthi Okkuta of Manasagangothri at Vignana Bhavan here recently.
Speaking after releasing the book, former Minister P.M. Narendra Swamy said, “Untouchability itself is a disease and there cannot be a more dreaded disease than untouchability and discrimination. The Corona pandemic is showing the horror of untouchability and discrimination to the whole world.”
“Mahanayaka TV serial being broadcast by a private channel, which is based on the life and achievements of Dr. Ambedkar is getting good response from the audience,” he added.
State-level ‘Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Seva Ratna Award’ was conferred on Executive Engineer of Ramanagar Rural Drinking Water Supply Division Chandrahasa, State Convenor Umesh B. Nuralakuppe, journalist from Magadi taluk G. Narasimhamurthy and budding singer Ruthwik C. Raj, on the occasion.
Later, a discussion on ‘Mahanayaka’ TV serial was held. Retired Secretary of State Government C. Somashekar, President of Kannada Pustaka Pradhikara Nandish Hanche, writer C. Chandrappa, Retired Professor B.P. Mahesh Chandra Guru, thinker K. Raghuram, State President of Bharatiya Dalita Sahitya Academy C. Venkatesh, State President of Hindulida Vargagala Jagriti Vedike K.S. Shivaramu and others were present.
