Chamarajanagar: Dr. B.T. Kavitha, who was earlier serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP), Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE) at Mysuru, took charge as the SP of Chamarajanagar from Additional SP Udesh on Wednesday.
Dr. Kavitha’s husband R. Nagashayana is presently serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Excise at Chamarajanagar.
Padmini Sahoo, who was serving as Chamarajanagar SP has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Administration, Bengaluru.
Speaking to media persons after taking charge as the SP, Dr. Kavitha said that Chamarajanagar shares its border with two States. “My priority is to make the district a safe place and to make the Police people-friendly,” she added. Reacting to her husband also being an officer in the same district, she said, “We both are Government employees, but first priority is our duty.”
