Mysore/Mysuru: With the State Vokkaligara Sangha polls scheduled to take place on May 16, the syndicate led by city-based Medical Practitioner Dr. K. Mahadev is going to contest the polls.
Addressing a press meet here on Thursday, Dr. Mahadev, a resident of V.V. Mohalla, said that he, along with his associates — Dr. M.B. Manjegowda and Corporator K.V. Sridhar — are going to contest for three posts of Director from Mysuru-Chamarajanagar-Ooty District quota.
Appealing the community voters to support the three-member syndicate headed by him, Dr. Mahadev highlighted his services to Vokkaligara Sangha for the past 20 years.
Asserting that he freed the Sangha from debt-trap in 2008, he alleged that the Sangha had fallen into wrong hands since 2014, which has to be rectified now.
Pointing out that the Sangha election is taking place on May 16, following a High Court direction, he said that there are 25,600 voters in Mysuru, Chamarajanagar and Ooty District of Tamil Nadu and appealed them to vote for his syndicate for the development of the Sangha in real terms.
Corporator K.V. Sridhar said that he has been actively involved in the Sangha activities as a member. Now he is contesting the polls for the Director post in order to serve the community members on a much higher-scale, he said.
Dr. M.B. Manjegowda, the third member of the syndicate, said that he is currently serving as a Director of the city-based MCDCC Bank. Noting that he has been serving the Co-operative sector for over 20 years, he appealed the community members to elect him as a Director of State Vokkaligara Sangha and thus give him an opportunity to serve them.
