Dr. M. Mohandas Shenoy (74), retired Director of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Hunsur, passed away following a brief illness at Chennai this morning.
He was the former President of Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) and a member of People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), Mysuru.
MGP has lost its illustrious President
MGP Founder-President Bhamy V. Shenoy, who has condoled the death of Dr. M.M. Shenoy, has stated that the MGP has lost its illustrious President.
In his condolence message, Bhamy said that Dr. M.M. Shenoy, during his tenure as MGP President had taken up various projects such as Saving Chamundi Hill, Saving Kukkarahalli Lake and had strived hard for the formation of Ward Committees.
Stating that Dr. M.M. Shenoy had also served as a Member of Internal Quality Assurance Cell of University of Mysore, Bhamy Shenoy said that Dr. M.M. Shenoy was on his recovery path after being operated for cancer and was looking forward to return to Mysuru, but unfortunately he passed away this morning.
Dr. M.M. Shenoy’s wife Uma Shenoy, former member of Mysuru Consumer Redressal Forum was by her husband’s side, when he breathed his last.
