‘Dr. Mylahalli Revanna achieved big while working in an inconducive atmosphere’

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that folk scholar Dr. Mylahalli Revanna achieved big working in an inconducive atmosphere, noted writer Prof. Aravind Malagatti said that several employees left their posts unable to digest the growth of the folk scholar.

He was speaking after releasing ‘Kaaludaariya Myligallu,’ a felicitation volume on Dr. Mylahalli Revanna at a programme jointly organised by Dr. Mylahalli Revanna Felicitation Committee and Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS) at Rani Bahadur auditorium in Manasagangothri here on Saturday.

Pointing out that Dr. Revanna won over great scholars through sheer excellence, humility and dedication, Prof. Malagatti said that Revanna stood like a tree amid a series of rocks.

Recalling the contributions of Revanna when he headed Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Studies, Research and Extension Centre, he said that his (Revanna) path to success is an inspirational one to everyone.

Writer Dr. K.R. Durgadas, in his address, said that Revanna achieved big by overcoming a lot of hardship and hurdles. He has made his own contribution to the world of folk literature, he added.

Folk Scholar Dr. Meerasabihalli Shivanna spoke about the book.

Writers Dr. D.K. Rajendra & Sha.Mum. Krishnaraya, KIKS Director Dr. Vijayakumari S. Karikal and others were present.
