Dr. Syed Azam (78), retired University of Mysore History Professor, former Secretary of New Muslim Hostel at Saraswathipuram, passed away this morning at his residence in Kuvempunagar in city.
He leaves behind his wife, one son, one daughter, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Masjid-e-Azam on Ashoka Road at 6 am tomorrow (Apr. 29), followed by the burial at the Muslim Burial Grounds near Tipu Circle.
