Drive against motorists ignoring traffic violation notices continue

1,109 cases traced, Rs. 1.73 lakh fine collected

Mysuru: The Mysuru City Traffic Police, who conducted a special drive at V.V. Puram Traffic Police limits against motorists who had ignored traffic violation notices issued to them by post, have traced 1,109 cases and have collected a total of Rs. 1.73 lakh from them. The drive was conducted on Dec. 30 from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.

Also, the Traffic Police conducted a special drive against helmetless riders, motorists using mobile phones while riding and driving, triple riding, transporting people more than the prescribed limit, jumping signals, parking vehicles in a haphazard manner hindering the smooth flow of traffic, other traffic violations and collected fines from them.

City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna has asked those who have received traffic violation notices by post to voluntarily pay the fines to avoid any inconvenience to them.
