Mysuru: Alleging lacuna in Vahana-4 and Sarathi-4 portals meant for issuing Driving Licenses (DLs), auto drivers, conductors and other transport workers staged a demonstration in front of the office of the Regional Transport (RTO) Commissioner here yesterday.
Claiming that the portals were too cumbersome for less educated drivers to answer over 400 questions, most of them in sign language, the protesters maintained that even those handling these two portals were finding it difficult as the internet speed was too slow.
Alleging that they were facing several problems in renewal of DL, transfer of ownership, smart card issuance and such other vehicle document issues, the protesters demanded appointment of a receptionist and setting up of a helpline at RTO offices to hear public grievances on vehicle document issues. Transport Union leaders M. Srinivas Mitra, Shariff, M.H. Kiran, Fayaz Pasha, Syed Samiulla, Syed Razak Ahmed, S. Sundar and others were present.
