DSS demands changes in outsourced appointment rules

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly opposing some restrictions in rules and conditions concerning outsourced Government appointments, the Dalit Sangarsha Samiti (DSS) staged a demonstration in front of the new DC office on Bannur Road in Siddarthanagar here yesterday demanding scrapping of rule 1 and 6 in the appointment conditions.

Pointing out that the State Government recently announced reservation in outsourced appointments too in keeping with social justice and issued a circular in this regard, the DSS activists alleged that rule 1 and 6 were against the aspirations of social justice and hence they should be scrapped.

Maintaining that the rule to fix reservation only in outsourced appointments of a minimum of 20 candidates, they alleged that this rule is not only unscientific but also deprives the SC/ST communities of job opportunities.

As such, the Government should modify the rules and ensure that reservation is guaranteed in all outsourced appointments by abolishing rule 1 and 6, they urged.

DSS office-bearers Alagudu Shivakumar, Bettaiah Kote, R. Somanna Kuppegala, Dasaiah, Rajani Shivashankar, Thimmegowda, Shivu, Shivaswamy, Krishnakumar, Dileep, Srinivas, Prakash, Chandan and others were present.
