Two arrested, 650 litres spirit, labels, packing machines, two bikes seized
Mysore/Mysuru: A team of Excise Department officials and staff, who raided a duplicate liquor manufacturing unit on the outskirts of city yesterday, have arrested two persons besides seizing 650 litres spirit, labels, three packing machines and two bikes from them.
The raid was conducted by the Excise Vigilance Squads of Mysuru and Tumakuru in a joint operation on an Ashraya House near Gorur on the outskirts of city, said Excise DC B. Madesh.
The Excise Vigilance Squad of Tumakuru had arrested a person on charges of selling duplicate liquor and had subjected him to interrogation during which he had informed the officials that he used to procure duplicate liquor from Mysuru.
Based on the information provided by the accused, the Tumakuru Excise Vigilance Squad officials came to Mysuru and with the help of Mysuru Excise Vigilance Squad members raided the duplicate liquor manufacturing unit, which had commenced its operations just about a month ago.
