Mysore/Mysuru: Dviti Inter-collegiate Fest, the first-of-its-kind two-day event, was held at Daksha College in city on May 21 and 22. Students from over 30 colleges from in and around Mysuru participated.
In his inaugural speech, Prof. N. Nagaraja, Director, PMEB, University of Mysore, emphasised that talent should be identified, showcased and nurtured on such platforms, allowing students to gain recognition and shape their future.
He appreciated the college for its endeavour in establishing a Research Centre with add-on post-graduate programmes (MBA & MCA) alongside its under-graduate courses (B.Com, BBA & BCA) with specialisations and practical exposure necessary to meet the current needs globally.
Chief guest, Prof. D. Anand, Director – CDC, University of Mysore, spoke on the importance of education in providing dignity, respect and self-confidence. He asserted that achieving excellence in any field requires courage, foresight, commitment and the experiences gained from competitions are invaluable.
P. Jayachandra Raju, Chairman of Daksha College, in his presidential speech highlighted the significance of such events in inspiring students. He emphasised the need for connecting with each other, connecting with nature and the surrounding environment which is the lead for identifying gaps and opportunities for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.
The competitions included strategies in Marketing, HRM, Financial Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Quiz, Treasure Hunt, Minute to Win, Stand-up Comedy, Photography and Cooking without Fire exercises.
The closing ceremony featured singing, dancing and ramp walks. Kannada Rapper R.K. Dhanush entertained the students with an impromptu Rap song. Folk singer Amma Ramachandra, entrepreneur Bernice Vijayan, model and fashion consultant Punith Subbaiah and internationally renowned Mysuru singer Sham were the jury for the events.
