Mysuru: Marking its Centenary Celebrations, Dharmaprakasha D. Banumaiah Educational Institutions, Mysuru, has organised an event at Banumaiah School premises on Dec. 11 at 10 am.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakartara Bhavana recently, President of the Institution Dr. V.B. Jayadev said that with an aim to provide education to poor and downtrodden children and to achieve educational prosperity, Dharmaprakasha Banumaiah founded the Anglo-vernacular School in 1908 in Mysuru. Later, D. Banumaiah’s Educational Institution was founded as a Trust on Oct. 2, 1919.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan will inaugurate the centenary celebrations on Dec. 11 at 10 am and release the souvenir. Kunchitiga Mahasamsthana Mutt Seer of Hosadurga Sri Shanthaveera Swamiji and Kunchitiga Mahasamsthana Mutt Seer of Tumakuru Sri Hanumantha Swamiji will grace the occasion. MLAs G.T. Devegowda, S.A. Ramdas and L. Nagendra, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath and Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will participate. Dr. Jayadev will preside.
Former CM Siddharamaiah will deliver the valedictory address at 5.30 pm. MLA Dr. Yatindra Siddharamaiah, MLC Marithibbegowda, former MLA Vasu, Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed and others will be present.
