Mysuru: Keeping in mind the tourist inflow to city during Dasara festivities and the traffic rush, Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep and Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, inspected the stalled multi-level parking lot and the amphitheatre works in Town Hall premises here yesterday.
They were accompanied by MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, ZP CEO P. Shivashankar and other officials.
After the inspection, the DC held discussions with the officials concerned over the delay in the completion of the works and instructed the officials concerned to complete the works before the commencement of Dasara festivities.
Various developmental works at a cost of Rs. 16 crore was taken up at the Town Hall premises, which included Rs. 2.75 crore works of the multi-level parking lot and the amphitheatre.
Mayor Ravikumar said that though 90% of the works has been completed, the remaining works were stalled after the contractor was blacklisted. He added that the works would be taken up soon by the new contractor and asked the District Administration to initiate action plan to complete the remaining works at the earliest.
Meanwhile, DC Randeep, speaking about the amphitheatre, said that the works were in final stages and would be completed before Dasara.
The Mayor said that the amphitheatre would be added to the list of venues, which will host Dasara events, as it is easy to access by the people.
Dasara festival will be held from Sept.21 to Sept.30.
