Recently I had been to the Railway Station West Gate (CFTRI side) to drop my daughter. I was surprised to see that there were restrictions saying “No Parking” and fine for parking is Rs. 500.
One thing Railway authorities should bear in mind is that people who come to receive their visitors may have to wait till they get down from train and come out of the gate. Many times, train arrivals may be delayed owing to platform issues.
Till such time, the cars used to wait outside in front of the officers quarters, opposite railway institute, without blocking the entry points of the quarters.
This was a good practice and when the passengers arrived, vehicles used to go the portico and pick them up without inconveniencing anyone. But now pseople are put to great inconvenience. Hope the Railway DRM will take note of this and provide parking space for four-wheelers as was earlier considering passenger-friendly relationship.
