ECI announces dates for verification of voters’ list

Mysuru:  The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the dates for verification of voters’ list and inclusion of names to the list. Those completing 18 years within Jan.1, 2020 can add their names to the voters’ list.

According to the press release from the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the Electors Verification Programme (EVP) will be held from Aug.16 to Sept.30. 

BLOs will visit the individual houses for reviewing from Sept.1 to Sept.30. The draft voters’ list will be published on Oct.15 (Tuesday).

Following this, two special drives will be conducted on Nov.2, 3, 9 and 10. Last date to file objections is between Nov.15 to 30. The objections will be verified within Dec.15 and the final list of voters will be published between Jan.1, 2020 to Jan.15.

Citizens can verify their details in the voters’ list by comparing it with Passport, Driving Licence, Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, ID Cards issued by Government or Government-aided institutions, Bank Passbook, Farmer’s ID Card, etc.

For verification, citizens may use ECI Mobile APP or log on to National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) — www.nvsp.in or www.ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in, visit Common Service Centres, or submit applications to officers of Booth Level Officer (BLO) to Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) rank. For any changes, citizens can submit the details by filling respective forms issued by the ECI — Form No.6: Inclusion of names in the voters’ list; Form No.7: Deletion of names from voters’ list; Form No.8: Correction in voters’ list; Form No.8(a): Change of address in the same Assembly Segment.
