Mysuru: “Teachers have an enormous responsibility of educating children on moral values and enable them to fight against injustice,” opined DDPI Manjula.
She was speaking at the prize distribution programme to winners of debate and essay competition on co-operative issues for PUC and high school students, organised jointly by Karnataka State Co-operative Federation and Pramathi Hillview Academy at Sahakara Bhavan on Chamaraja Double Road recently.
Noting that the essence of co-operation lies in responding to the plight of poor sections of the society, Manjula said that children should learn to fight injustice and come to the aid of weaker sections of the society.
Highlighting the role of teachers in inculcating human values among children, she said children will learn more from practical experiences in life.
In the debate contest for PU students, Anagha and S. Rohan of Jnanodaya PU College bagged the first and second prize respectively while Arpitha of Maharani’s PU College bagged the third prize.
In the essay contest for high school children, S. Radhika of D. Salundi High School bagged the first prize, Madhumita of Adarsha Vidyalaya, the second prize and Rekha of D. Salundi High School bagged the third prize.
Jnanodaya PU College won the rolling shield.
Mysuru Chamarajanagar District Cooperative Central Bank President S. Chandrasekhar, District Co-operative Union President H.V. Rajeev, Director M.B. Manjegowda, Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies Dr. G. Umesh, G.M. Chennabasappa and others were present.
