Eight burglary cases detected in Mysuru Rural Police limits

  • Rs. 11.72 lakh stolen items recovered
  • Rs. 4 lakh fine collected in 41 drunken driving cases in four days

Mysore/Mysuru: As many as eight burglary cases which took place in a week at various Rural Police limits in the district have been detected and stolen items worth Rs. 11,72,000 have been recovered.

On July 12, a burglar, who had decamped with 145 grams gold ornaments from the house of one Raghunath in KBL Gardenia in Yelwal Police limits, has been arrested and stolen gold weighing 119 grams and worth Rs. 6,54,000 has been recovered.

Out of eight stolen cows in three cases in K.R. Nagar taluk, the Police have arrested the accused and have recovered six cows worth Rs. 2,75,000 from the accused.

Bettadapura Police, who were investigating a case pertaining to a theft in vehicle spare parts shop belonging to one Syed Ayaz at Ankanahalli village in Periyapatna taluk, where the burglar had decamped with spare parts worth Rs. 1.5 lakh, have arrested three accused and have recovered spare parts worth Rs. 1 lakh from them.

Yelwal Police, who have arrested an accused on charges of stealing four rams and 35 pigeons from the house on one Swamy Gowda in Hosakote village in Mysuru taluk, have recovered three rams and all the pigeons worth Rs. 1.3 lakh from the accused.

Hullahalli Police have arrested a man who had stolen two rolls of drip irrigation pipe from the agricultural field of one Ramachandra in Nanjangud taluk, have recovered the stolen booty from the accused.

Three ganja peddlers, who were peddling ganja at Dasthikola Circle in Bilikere have been arrested and 500 grams of the narcotic substance worth Rs. 10,000 has been seized.

Drunken driving

Also, Police, who conducted drunken driving drives in Mysuru district limits, since last four days have booked 41 cases and have collected a total of Rs. 4 lakh fines from them, according to a press release from the District Police.
