As part of its series of programmes for senior citizens during the current year, the Elder Citizens Council along with Elder Citizens Viswastha Mandali Trust, will be celebrating World Senior Citizens Day on Oct. 28 at 10 am at its Saraswathi Samudaya Bhavan in Jayalakshmipuram. Chamaraja MLA L .Nagendra will inaugurate the programme and will felicitate prominent senior citizens — Dr. S.P. Yoganna, Chairman of Suyog Hospital and Rama Nagendra, retired Head Mistress of Paduvarahalli Government Primary School — for their life-time achievements.
President of Elder Citizens Council Krishnappa Gowda will preside. Elder Citizens Trust Chairman S.V. Gowdappa will be present on the occasion.
