Mysore/Mysuru: A 65-year-old woman, who was walking on the road from the bus stand platform to the exit gate was killed on the spot, when a KSRTC bus ran over her at Sub-Urban Bus Stand yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as Neelamma, wife of Puttashetty and a resident of Sathi village in K.R. Nagar taluk.
Neelamma, who had come to city, alighted the bus at Sub-Urban Bus Stand and was walking on the road from the platform towards the exit, when a KSRTC bus (KA-05-F-5254) ran over her killing her on the spot.
Passengers at the Bus Stand took the driver of the bus to task for rash and negligent driving. Soon, Police intervened and brought the situation under control and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary.
Devaraja Traffic Police, who have registered a case, have seized the bus and taken the bus driver into custody.
Unidentified man killed
An unidentified man, who was walking towards Nanjangud, was killed on the spot, when a bus hit him. The deceased is aged between 55 and 60 years and no other details are known.
