Mysuru: An elderly man was killed on the spot when a car rammed into the scooter from behind on Uttanahalli Ring Road on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Arif (70), a resident of Hullina Beedhi in K.R. Mohalla, who used to distribute beedies to shops. On Saturday afternoon, Syed was on his TVS Jupiter scooter (KA-09-HC-1122) from Lalithadripura towards Uttanahalli side on the Outer Ring Road and when he was proceeding near Sri Shanidevara Temple Cross, a speeding car (KA-19-MK-6777) rammed into the scooter from behind and dragged the vehicle along with Syed for a distance.
Syed who sustained serious injuries breathed his last on the spot, Police said. Mysuru South Police have registered a case.
