Mysore/Mysuru: Stating that most of the elderly are knowledgeable persons, Swami Muktidanandaji, President of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysuru, observed that the elderly should share their knowledge and experience with their family and as well as the society.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Foundation Day celebration of Elder Citizens Council at Saraswathi Samudaya Bhavan on Hospital road in Jayalakshmipuram here on Tuesday morning.
Observing that Knowledge (Jnana) is like ‘Yagna’, Swami Muktidanandaji said that this Yagna should be passed on to younger and future generations.
Calling upon the elderly to come with a ‘Chintana-Manthana’ book that contains their wisdom, experience and acquired knowledge, he said doing so will be of good help to the society, which is currently undergoing a generational transformation with rapid advancements in Science and Technology.
Five elder citizens — Govindegowda, S.V. Venkateshaiah, Dr. M.T. Nagaraj, Sudha Harish and Shankar Narayan — were felicitated on the occasion. Elder Citizens Trust Chairman S.V. Gowdappa, Council President Dr. H.M. Nagaraj, former MUDA Chairman Yashaswi Somashe- kar and others were present .
