Mysuru, Oct. 18 (BCT)- Mysuru city is set for an evening dedicated to the rich heritage of Karnatak classical music with the event ‘Sangeetha Sanskriti Samarpanam’ on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 3.45 pm to 9 pm at RamaGovinda Rangamandira, F-Block, Ramakrishnanagar.
Curated by Vidwan Rakesh Sudhir and Ashwini Murali under the banner Bamboo Melody Raagas, the event aims to present, promote and provide an immersive experience of Karnatak music to the city’s audiences while showcasing young musical talent from Mysuru.
The programme will also honour revered Gurus, Vidwan H.K. Narasimhamurthy and Vidushi H.N. Rajalakshmi, who have introduced many artistes to the world of Karnatak music, through a special Guru Vandana and felicitation ceremony by students and performers.
The concert line-up features four performances: The first, from 3.45 pm to 4.30 pm, will see a flute recital by Krutarth and Agasthya, accompanied by Prerana Praveen on violin and Aditya Srikiran on mridanga.
This will be followed by another flute performance by Ankush S. Kadaba with Srilalitha on violin and Vid. Shubhang Samaga on mridanga from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm.
From 5.15 pm to 6 pm, vocalist Prerana Praveen will take the stage, accompanied by Srilalitha on violin and Vid. Shubhang Samaga on mridanga.
The main slot, from 6.15 pm to 9 pm, will feature a vocal concert by Vidu. Prithvi Bhaskar, with accompaniment by Vidu. C.V. Shruthi on violin, Vid. Nandan Kashyap on mridanga, Vid. Sharath Koushik on ghata and Vid. K.M. Likhith on morching.
With a focus on curating and promoting budding Karnatak musicians, ‘Sangeetha Sanskriti Samarpanam’ promises an evening of musical excellence, celebrating the vibrant cultural legacy of Mysuru.
