Mysuru: Prof. V. Jagannath, Retired Scientist, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has been elected as the President of the Federation of Mysuru City Corporation Wards Parliament. A decision to this effect was taken at the General Body Meeting held at a private hotel in city recently.
It may be recalled here that the Federation has been playing a crucial role in Zero Waste Management besides sensitising the residents of Mysuru City Corporation limits regarding scientific waste segregation.
Meanwhile, former MLC D. Madegowda will continue to be the Patron of the Federation. The other office-bearers are: N. Kumaraswamy and Shivakumar – Vice-Presidents; M. Jeevanprakash – Secretary, Advocate K.M. Satishchandra – Assistant Secretary, Veena – Treasurer, K.M. Nagapathi – Director and Advisor, Arunkumar – Special Invitee.
Ward meeting on Sundays
The Wards Parliament will conduct Ward meeting regularly on every Sundays between 10 am and 12 noon at Zero Waste Management unit in Kumbarakoppal. It will train interested citizens and non-government organisations about Zero Waste Management.
Plans have been chalked out by Ward Parliament to bring more number of citizens under its umbrella to make them as vibrant citizenry. It will also hold series of meetings with senior citizens and experts to once again grab the ‘Cleanest City’ tag for Mysuru.
