Lifetime Achievement Award to Padma Bhushan Dr. B.V. Sreekantan
Mysuru: Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA), an autonomous organisation under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, is organising the Eleventh KSTA Conference in association with NMKRV College for Women, Jayanagar, Bengaluru, on Feb.1 and Feb.2 (Friday & Saturday).
Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy is likely to inaugurate the Conference on Feb. 1 at 10 am at the Mangala Mantapa of NMKRV College.
The Conference, with the focal theme “New Vistas in Science and Technology for Common Good,” provides an opportunity for young researchers to present their research posters/models related to basic and applied sciences as well as engineering. Four best posters, in each subject, selected by a panel of experts, will be awarded attractive cash prizes (First prize – Rs. 15,000; Second – Rs. 10,000 and two Consolation prizes of Rs. 5,000 each).
Last date for submission of applications, to participate as a delegate and to send research abstracts, is Jan. 19 (Saturday). The same may be submitted through email (nmkrv.ksta19@gmail.com). Padma Bhushan Dr. B.V. Sreekantan, former Director, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Bombay and Hon. Visiting Professor, NIAS, Bengaluru, will be honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.” The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, a gold medal and a citation, according to a press release from Dr. A. M. Ramesh, Chief Executive Officer, Karnataka Science and Technology Academy.
