End chaotic scenes at Zoo Subway exit

Sir,

I am writing on behalf of the concerned residents of Ittigegud who have consistently raised issues regarding various nuisance/s created by tourists. Despite numerous complaints, it appears that our pleas have gone unanswered from the local Corporator, Police and the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC).

A recent concern has emerged due to the exit of the Zoo Subway. A makeshift illegal auto stand has appeared at the entrance, occupying a significant portion of the narrow road.

These auto drivers not only block the footpath but also charge tourists exorbitant rates, refusing to use meters when requested. This has forced pedestrians, including school children, elderly individuals, and other tourists, to walk on the road, posing a serious safety risk.

We question whether the Police Department is actively performing its duty. It is disheartening that their focus seems to be primarily on collecting fines for helmet violations, rather than addressing critical issues such as the removal of the illegal auto stand and penalising auto drivers for not using meters or not wearing uniforms.

Furthermore, the presence of multiple vendors, including a coconut vendor, fruit vendor, ice cream parlour, and tea joint, exacerbates the problem on this already congested road. Residents of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Cross are facing significant disruptions to their daily lives.

On behalf of the residents, we urgently request the Police Department, Mysuru Zoo authorities, and the local Corporator to take immediate and strict action against all violators.

We specifically urge the removal of the illegal auto stand to its original spot, which provides ample parking space on the main road. Additionally, we call upon the MCC to clear all footpath vendors creating  chaos and hindering free movement.

In the interest of smooth traffic flow and the safety of all, we propose designating this road as a no-parking zone. We trust that your prompt attention and action will alleviate these concerns and restore peace to the residents of Ittigegud.
