A Feng Shui is all about energy, and the basic laws of energy are universal and work the same way, no matter where you are geographically located. A piece of land without any structure on it allows unhindered energy to flow through and over the plot. When a structure is put up on a plot we first dig the earth, put up walls and fix doors, windows etc. This in simple terms would amount to creating an imbalance in the equilibrium for energy movement in that piece of plot.
The study of aligning your space to ensure that the occupants are not affected by an imbalance caused by these elements and placing cures or countering them with proper planning of room deigns, positions, placement of doors and windows through the adaptation of Vastu or Feng Shui is the key to a good home or office.
Feng Shui, the Ancient Chinese Art of space design, follows the tenets of Bio geometry to bring in the “Life force” or “Chi’ energy into a building which empowers the place with positive vibes. This technique of locating the earth’s energy flow and countering is an important aspect of Feng Shui on-site analysis.
Feng Shui can effectively bring about changes in a person’s life and not only for wealth and health but can improve harmony and create cordial atmosphere at home.
A good Feng Shui house has good Feng Shui anchored in its main energy zones or sectors of the property.
The fundamental principle of any Feng Shui or Vastu design is based on the premise that natures energies should be in balance in a place of dwelling or work. Any Energy imbalance could cause disturbances and could lead to discomfort and illness too. Human body and mind has a great impact and gets affected due to change in energy in the immediate surroundings.
One can start aligning the space by looking at important areas in a property and can begin with the door position and orientations. While designing doors, one needs to pay attention to the windows too. Windows are the space where energy enters and leaves the room although they are secondary to the doors. Windows in line with the door are considered bad as the energy coming in rushes out through the window.
Check your bedroom for overpowering decor, furniture or even artefacts. Excess shades of blue, images of water falls, or water features like aquarium and fountain within the bedroom is bad Feng Shui. Bed room is the sanctuary for relaxation; hence it is beneficial if a proper design and décor is maintained in this zone. Using wooden bed/cot is preferred as wood is benign and warm as against metal beds, which are cold and oppressive, and metal is said to be associated with the planet Saturn in astrology too.
You can add the following décor in various zones to enhance the energy and prosperity of the home:
- Place figurine of horses and elephants in the vicinity of main door in the lobby.
- Place a picture of currency or even a decorated metal bowl with coins, semi precious stones and crystals at SW of the living.
- Place a figurine of Rooster at the west sector of the house.
