Mysuru: As part of World Museum Day celebrations on May 18, the Department of Archaeology, Heritage and Museums, District Administration and the Tourism Department have organised a unique programme ‘Museum on Wheels’, where the public who have registered for the tour of museums in city, will be taken to seven museums here.
Deputy Director of the Tourism Department H.P. Janardhan, speaking to Star of Mysore said that the tour would begin from Wellington House (which houses Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya) on Irwin Road on May 18 at 9.30 am.
He further said that the participants would be taken to the Regional Museum of Natural History in Siddarthanagar, Folklore Museum in Manasagangothri, Rail Museum, Sand Museum at the foot of Chamundi Hill, Wax Museum in Siddarthanagar and R.K. Narayan Museum in Yadavagiri, apart from IGRMS in a 44-seater KSTDC bus.
He said that 30 people have registered for the tour so far and added that an additional bus would be deployed if more people register for the tour.
