Mysuru: The Dasara Sub-Committee for Fine Arts and Handicrafts (Dasara Lalithakale mattu Karakushala Samithi) will be conducting the exhibition of paintings and handicrafts from Oct.9 to 19 at Kalamandira in city as part of Dasara celebrations.
The Committee has invited entries from professional and amateur artists for exhibition of their artworks and crafts.
They can display the artworks such as painting, sculpture, graphics, applied arts, photographs, traditional painting, traditional sculpture, handicrafts and inlay works.
Amateur artists will not be allowed to display in traditional arts, sculptures, handicrafts and inlay categories. Interested may send two of their best works to the exhibition. They should not send the award-winning art works. Three best works will be given first, second and third prizes in both professional and amateur categories.

Demonstration on Oct.14
The Committee has also organised demonstration on spinning thread from spinning wheel (Gandhi Charaka), pottery making, basket weaving and preparing Ganesha idol by rice grains from Oct.14 to 16 between 4 pm and 7 pm at Kalamandira premises.
Competition for children
The Committee is also organising on-the-spot painting and drawing competition for children in three categories — 1st to 4th std., 5th to 8th std. and 9th to 12th std. — on Oct.14 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Kalamandira premises. Only drawing sheets will be provided by the organisers.
