Entries invited for Natl.-level Akashavani Music contest

Mysore: To identify young singers and promote them, the annual ‘National-level Akashavani Music Contest-2019’ will be held in two stages. The preliminary selection will be held at Mysore Akashavani Kendra. An entry fee of Rs. 500 should be paid through DD drawn in favour of the Station Director, All India Radio, Mysuru.

The participant’s age as of June 30, 2019 should be a minimum of 16 years and a maximum of 24 years. Singers participating in Yuvavani can also participate but not Graded artistes recognised by the Akashavani Local Audition Committee and Regional Audition Board.

The contest will be held under Karnatak, Hindustani, Instrumental, Devotional, Light Music, Folk and Group Singing categories.

The preliminary selection will be made from July 8 to 26 and the finalists will be eligible for recording. The interested singers can obtain the applications from Akashavani Mysuru during working hours and submit before June 7, according to a press release.
