Evaluation for Urdu teachers

Mysuru: A five-day training-cum-workshop on Testing and Evaluation and Item Writing for High School and PU College Urdu teachers of Karnataka and Urdu Research Scholars of various Universities of Karnataka was held at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) in city recently.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer in-Charge of NTS-I, said that the teachers must equip themselves with recent methodologies and techniques in the area of testing and evaluation and added that the training-cum-workshop on Testing & Evaluation provides them with this unique opportunity.

He said that without sufficient knowledge about testing and evaluation, teachers cannot do justice with graded tests, and added that  NTS-I will be happy to collaborate with all levels of teachers and language educators  in various forms and capacities.

Prof. P.R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Head, NTS-I, who presided, said that evaluation is an essential component for every teacher and added that the teacher should understand various aspects of the evaluation in its whole so that s/he could set better questions.

Dr. G.M. Ansari, Junior Resource Person (JRP), NTS and Co-ordinator of the Workshop, briefed about the workshop objectives. Dr. Md. Saleem Ahmed, JRP, NTS and Co-ordinator of the workshop, proposed a vote of thanks. About 40 teachers/research scholars participated.
