Ex-JOC employees demand fixed pension

Mysore/Mysuru: Seeking a fixed pension, ex-lecturers and employees of the now scrapped JOC (Job Oriented Courses) colleges coming Dept. of  the then PUE and Vocational Courses Department, have urged the Govt. to consider their pre-regularisation employment period while deciding their pension.

More than 100 members of the Association of ex-JOC lecturers employees merged with other Government Departments, led by Association President K.S. Somashekar, met former MLA M.K. Somashekar at the latter’s residence here on Monday and presented a memorandum seeking to address their pension issues.

Stating that the services of about 3,150 employees of erstwhile JOC colleges were merged with other Govt. Departments in 2011, K.S. Somashekar said that, however, the Government had not considered years (which runs up to 15 to 20 years) of their pre-regularisation of service while deciding pension.

Upon receiving the memorandum from the Association Members, the former MLA assured  that he would arrange for a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during his  visit to the city which is scheduled on July 18 and 19.
