Ex-MP gets JC till July 8

Bengaluru: Former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, arrested in the cases of sexual assault, has been remanded to 14-day Judicial Custody (JC).

Following the completion of his Police Custody in a third case of sexual assault, Prajwal was produced before the Judge of Special Court For People’s Representatives on Monday. After the hearing, the Judge pronounced the order granting JC for Prajwal till July 8.

Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted in the cases of sexual assault involving Prajwal, had earlier taken the latter for five-day Police Custody for questioning in the third case. A former Zilla Panchayat Member had accused Prajwal of sexual assault at MP’s residence in Hassan.

As the SIT did not apply for the extension of his (Prajwal) custody, the Judge sent him to JC, following which Prajwal was taken to Parappana Agrahara Central Jail.
